North Carolina has a proud shipbuilding history

The Port of Wilmington in North Carolina is a seaport much like any other on the eastern coast of the United States, it has good access to major Trans-Atlantic trade routes and serves the economy of North Carolina through the import and export of manufactured goods and raw materials, but it is also a part of the proud history of the state for it was here in the 1940s that one of North Carolina’s great contributions to the wartime effort took place.
